Volunteer Opportunities

Please note that our volunteers generally do not interact independently with our horses, as they are service animals.

Safety Companions

Safety Companions play a crucial role in our therapeutic sessions by walking beside horses to ensure the safety of our clients. This role requires physical stamina, the ability to walk continuously for 60 minutes, and occasionally jog on uneven ground. No prior experience with horses or people with disabilities is necessary—just enthusiasm, a strong back, and a commitment to supporting our participants. Volunteers must be 16 years or older, and documentation for school credit or work is available. Volunteers assist by leading horses or walking beside riders (sidewalking) during classes. Sidewalkers walk or trot by the side of the horse, assisting students with their balance under the direction of the instructor. No experience is needed for this position.

Horse Leaders

Horse leaders guide the therapy horse in walking, trotting, and halting during the lesson, under the direction of the instructor. Previous horse experience is required for this role.

Arena Assistants

Arena Assistants help set up the arena for each class, ensuring the arena is clean and properly maintained. This includes tasks such as mucking and organizing the space for the safety and comfort of our participants.

Grounds Enhancement Volunteers

Help us maintain our beautiful 25-acre ranch, creating a welcoming and safe environment for our participants. Tasks include sweeping walkways, maintaining barn corridors, and general upkeep, contributing to a serene and safe atmosphere. This role is perfect for those who enjoy being outdoors and working around people and animals.

Event Support & Administrative Assistance

Join us in making our events memorable and impactful! We seek enthusiastic volunteers to help with event setup and tear-down, gift wrapping, crafts, photography, and more.

In addition to event support, we welcome volunteers with skills in graphic design, PowerPoint presentations, film making, marketing, grant writing, event planning, and fundraising to assist in our office. Your expertise will help us enhance our outreach and ensure the success of our programs. Whether you’re hands-on at events or working behind the scenes, your contribution is invaluable to our mission. Join us and be part of a team that creates unforgettable experiences for our community!
