EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPY

Equine-Assisted therapy

WHAT IS IT?

Equine-assisted Therapy combines the guidance of a licensed therapist with the presence and responsiveness of horses to create a safe, experiential environment for personal growth and mental health support.

Sessions involve ground-based activities such as grooming, leading, or observing horses, rather than riding, allowing clients to explore emotions, behaviors, and patterns in a non-judgmental setting.

Horses provide immediate feedback and mirror human emotions, helping participants develop self-awareness, empathy, trust, and coping skills.

HOW EAP WORKS?

· Team Approach: Our licensed mental health clinician collaborates with our equine specialist to structure sessions based on our client’s goals.

· Practical Activities: Clients interact with horses through exercises that model boundaries, communication, and emotional regulation

· Therapeutic Goals: EAP can support treatment for PTSD, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, addiction, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders.
